Since being self-dependent requires, among other things, some sort of income to support our life, in a way, education prepares people to take a job in order to earn some money. However, education is also about being wise, ethical, moral and leading a better quality of life. Therefore, we cannot conclude that the ultimate goal of education is to earn money.
The professionals like doctors, engineers, pilots, lawyers, accountants, and so on had pursued specific education in their undergraduate and graduate levels of study. Education had equipped them with all the knowledge and skills required to take up such professions. Although, their profession provides services to the people in the society, it is done in return for their service fees. Therefore, on this ground we can conclude that education’s ultimate goal is to make money.
Apart from such specific professions, other service sectors offer jobs to the qualified persons. Such candidates are required to have certain level of educational qualifications. This is an example of people’s perception that educated people are more suitable for job. And job is all about earning a salary. Hence, education is about getting a job and earning a livelihood.

Moreover, the more they earn the more successful (and famous) they are considered in their works. Thus, education makes people capable of earning lots of money through creative pursuits.
On the contrary, education can be useful to improve our living standard, and live a healthy life. A more knowledgeable person can leads a better life than a naive. Even if an uneducated person has a lot of money he might not have the knowledge about how to use the money wisely. Therefore, the goal of education is not only to earn money alone, but to teach people how to better spend the earned money to attain maximum advantages. From this perspective, the ultimate goal of education is to lead a better life.
